“I feel a special and personal link to the cat family. Painting this tiger -
an endangered species - evoked in me a simultaneous feeling of
power and sadness. Power associated with the sheer physical
forcefulness of the largest of the cat family; sadness, because beauty
of such magnitude is threatened by human actions based on greed.

In this painting the tiger makes it's own plea for existence as shown in
its eyes. It somehow reveals my own animal-like instinct and longing
to be part of, and belong to a world so much simpler and so much more
basic than the one we know. ”
